In 1990, two Evansville, Indiana, demo drivers decided to convert from driving cars to promoting their own shows. Together, they formed 4-D Demolition Derby, which evolved from a hometown promotions company to one that now serves the tri-state area.

Currently, 4-D Demolition Derby is known as Smashemup Motorsports and is solely operated by Doug Maynard. Smashemup Motorsports has grown to include numerous shows, including several county fairs, Tri-State Speedway and the Labor Day Association.

Today, Smashemup Motorsports continues its mission of providing quality demolition derby promotions, as it has since 1990.
